The Life of Cicero: A Great Lawyer

Marcus Tullius Cicero was born on January 3, 106 BC to an equites family. Cicero was an extremely talented student. Cicero's early education in oration and philosophy was under the guidance of some of the best tutors of his time. He studied in Athens and Rhodes, immersing himself in Greek philosophy, particularly the works of Plato and Aristotle.

Cicero returned to Rome and began a successful career in both law and politics. His oratory skills quickly made him a renowned advocate in Roman courts, earning him a reputation as one of the best lawyers of that time. In politics he was also very successful, serving as a quaestor and later as an aedile. The highlight of his political career was when he was elected consul in 63 BC.

On December 7, 43 BC, Cicero was assassinated, marking the end of his remarkable life. His legacy has lived on through his speeches (copied down by Tito his slave) and through his own writings. Cicero's contributions to oration, philosophy, and politics have made him a significant figure in the history of Rome and an inspiration for countless thinkers and leaders since his time.
